Preschool Classes
Our Classes
Each day, our classes integrate skills from all learning domains: social and emotional, cognitive, language, and fine/gross motor with strong emphasis on group and social learning. Children are introduced to the classroom through teacher led learning centers. They spend time getting to know our teachers and their classmates through song and play. Teachers introduce routines that help guide and engage the students and create predictability to the day.
As the children grow, we prepare them for kindergarten through fun and diverse activities. We play with letters, link letter names and sounds, sing songs, and draw and write independently. Each day students dive into counting games, patterning, sequencing and graphing, and other activities to develop math awareness. Children explore how the world works through hands-on sensory activities and develop strong physical skills on the playground and in the gymnasium. Daily art and music activities always promise noisy, messy fun and are favorites for all our children!
From a child’s first day in preschool, to the day they leave for kindergarten, we seek to provide an environment where compassion and kindness are paramount to all that we do, as we help our students develop self-confidence, self-awareness and consideration to the perspective of others.

I have studied Early Childhood Education and am taking classes to complete my ECE degree and to better my education skills and techniques. I love working with children and seeing their eyes light up when they discover something new. I admire their endless energy, honesty and creativity that they bring into the classroom each day. Nothing makes me happier than to watch young children grow and develop into confident, self-sufficient learners.
Mrs. Pauline Tetlow --- The Teddy Bear MWF Class and Busy Bee TuTh Class
Welcome to preschool! I'm looking forward to getting to know your little ones. My background is special education and early childhood education. Westwood has been my home for 15 years, and I love raising my family in this community. My two beautiful girls attended this preschool and are now in 8th grade and 12th grade. I started teaching here when my younger daughter attended the Westwood Club Preschool and have been here ever since.
Ms. Samantha Morris --- The Teddy Bear MWF Class and Busy Bee TuTh Class
My name is Samantha Morris. This is my third year of teaching at the Westwood Club Preschool. I grew up in Westwood and have worked at the Westwood Club since the age of 16 as a lifeguard, a camp counselor and working in the front office. Being a part of the preschool has been an amazing experience and the teachers have been so welcoming to me.
Mrs. Julie Ater --- The Giraffe Mon-Fri Class
My name is Julie Ater and I help teach the Giraffe class here at Westwood Club preschool. I earned my degree in Early Childhood Education 35 years ago and have been working with preschoolers ever since, as both a classroom teacher and as a parent volunteer when my children were young. My love for the Westwood Club Preschool started 27 years ago when my children attended here as students. I am now starting my 8 year as a full-time teacher here. I am passionate about helping to guide children as they navigate their world and learn to use their voices. There is nothing better than watching a child make a discovery and find confidence in their successes.
Mrs. Cristina Lazaroiu --- The Giraffe Mon-Fri Class
My name is Cristina Lazaroiu. I have been involved in Early Childhood Education ever since I became a parent. I earned my Early Childhood Education degree and I have always volunteered in my children’s classrooms as an educational assistant. Both my children attended the preschool program and loved it. We had such a wonderful experience with the school, the program and the teachers that I decided to follow my dream and stayed on as a teacher. When I’m not in the classroom, I enjoy spending time with my family and taking joy in the simple things in life.
Mrs. Preethi Sudi --- The Giraffe Mon-Fri Class
My name is Preethi Sudi! I have a deep passion for early childhood education and love working with young children. I hold a Master’s in Biotechnology and am working towards an Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education. I have been actively involved in volunteering at my kid’s schools. This is my first year working with Westwood Club Preschool. Outside the classroom, I enjoy hiking, cooking, sewing, gardening, and spending time with my family. I am excited and looking forward to meet all wonderful families to support your child’s growth and development in the classroom.

My name is Katie Butler and I’ve lived in Westwood for 12 years. I have two daughters who attended WWC Preschool and my family has nothing but fond memories from that time. Mrs. Nancy Da Silva --- Preschool Director
My name is Nancy Da Silva. For more than 20 years it has been my pleasure to be an active member of the Westwood community and a part of the Westwood Club Preschool. I first visited the preschool as the parent of three young children. My children and I loved our time here and the warmth and kindness of the teachers. When my children left preschool, I went back to college to earn my qualifications in early childhood education and childcare center management. I became a teacher at the WWC preschool and later accepted the position as director. I love what I do and the chance it gives me to get to know all our wonderful Westwood families!

About Us...
Our Mission
The Westwood Club Preschool strives to nurture each child's individuality, innate curiosities and instill a desire for lifelong learning as we prepare preschoolers for TK kindergarten and the world beyond.
Our Philosophy
Each student comes into our school with different perspectives, interests, backgrounds, family and home lives and life experiences. We work to understand this personal history so that we can craft an educational program that is diverse, engaging and joyful. We work to foster curiosity, experiment to solve problems and ask questions. We create experiences, wonder and spontaneous moments that are relevant to each student. And, we make the learning fun!
