Club Rules and Guide
The Westwood Club is a recreational facility that provides activities, amenities and services for our residents. The Westwood Club is a nonprofit corporation which means the IRS has guidelines in place for how we can make money, spend money and use the facilities. By following these guidelines, the club merits an almost tax-free status. Activities that are not allowed include any activities that are “commercial” (unless they are part of a club program) or “religious” (unless strictly recreational).
The Westwood Club is overseen by a volunteer Board of Directors. The Board is elected by the membership in March of each year. Board meetings are held on the last Tuesday of the month at 7:15pm in the Lounge. Members who wish to address the Board may do so at the start of each meeting.
Code of Conduct
The Westwood Club is a family-friendly facility committed to fostering a respectful, welcoming and inclusive environment. All members, guests, vendors and staff are expected to:
- Treat others with kindness, courtesy, and respect
- Follow all Club rules and policies
- Take responsibility for personal conduct and the conduct of guests
The following rules are set forth to maintain a safe and enjoyable space for everyone:
- All members must show a current membership card when entering the facility
- No Smoking or vaping (including parking areas)
- Possession, sale, or use of illegal substances is prohibited
- No Weapons of any kind
- Vulgar, abusive, or discriminatory language is prohibited
- No Confetti and other disruptive decorations
- No Glass containers
Guest Policy
- Guests must always be accompanied by a member.
- Minor members (under 18) may bring up to 2 guests using a guest pass.
- Only members are allowed in the fitness center.
Enforcement
The Westwood Club Board of Directors and staff reserve the right to enforce this Code. Property owners may be held responsible for broken or damaged equipment/property.

Welcome to Westwood!
Westwood Club members gain access to the club by showing a valid Westwood Club ID card. When your escrow closes or your lease (12 month minimum) has been signed, come to the club to have your club card made. Owner’s first cards are covered by their escrow fees. Renter cards cost $5 each. All replacement cards cost $5. Members 6 years of age and older must scan a membership card to enter the facility. Children under the age of 6 must be accompanied by a responsible adult or teenager.
Guests
Adult members may bring in guests using a guest pass. 36 free guest admissions are issued to members each year. Additional guest passes may be purchased at the front office for $50 for 12. Adult members may pay $5 per guest in lieu of using a guest pass. Teen members need to use a guest pass to bring up to 2 guests into the club per visit. Members are responsible for their guest’s behavior and should be present with their guests at the facility at all times.
Additional Residents
An additional resident is a person living in your home that is not a part of your immediate family. Examples would be a renter living in a room in your home with you. Additional residents may become members of the club at a cost of $5 per month or $60 per year. 2 proofs of residency and a signature from the homeowner will be required to set up the membership.
Membership Dues
Dues are paid annually and are due on July 1st of each year. The dues amount is determined by The Board of Directors and will be announced at the Annual Meeting in Mid-March. Dues become delinquent and are subject to a late fee on July 15th.
Private Party Rentals
Certain areas of the club are available for private party rentals. These areas are: The Lounge, The Multi-Purpose Room, The Gymnasium, The Teen Center, The Gazebo, The Kitchen, The Baseball Field and The Small Field. Information regarding rental price is available on the Club website: rbwestwoodclub.com and at the Club front office. Reservations are handled at the front office. Room reservations require a deposit. The Club accepts cash and checks only. Fee information is available at the front office or at www.rbwestwoodclub.com.
Some things to DO at the Club:
-DO have fun. There are many recreational activities to enjoy.
-DO bring your membership card. Showing your card at the office provides easy entrance and allows you to borrow sports equipment.
-DO watch your language. Profanity is not tolerated.
-DO ride your bicycle, scooter or skateboard to the Club. Bring a chain to lock them to the bicycle rack. Wheeled vehicles may not be used inside the Club gates.
Some DON'Ts at the Club:
-DON’T bring glass. Broken glass is dangerous and difficult to clean up.
-DON’T bring your pet. Only service animals are allowed on the property.
-DON’T bring "radio controlled" devices to the Club. Drones, airplanes, cars, etc. can accidentally go astray and injure someone.
-DON’T bring illegal drugs to the Club. Illegal drug activity will be reported to the authorities. Unacceptable behavior caused by drugs or alcohol will not be tolerated on Club property.
-DON’T smoke. Smoking and vaping are prohibited on club grounds.
Indoor areas include:
A gymnasium, fitness center, saunas, preschool, billiard room with a pool table and ping pong table, teen center, racquet ball/squash court, honor library, Multipurpose room and Lounge (available for party rental).
Equipment check-out
The Club has miniature golf, shuffleboard, ping pong, billiards, basketball, badminton, volleyball, soccer, horseshoes, tennis, tennis ball machine, pickle ball, pickle ball machine, and racquetball equipment available for member use. The Club also has kickboards and playground balls. These items are available for check-out at the Club office. Leave your WWC card with the office staff while using the equipment. Broken equipment may result in a replacement charge for the member.
Swimming Pool Rules
- Dive in designated areas only. Diving boards are open only when lifeguards are on duty.
- No running on the pool deck
- No glass allowed in the pool area
- No eating or drinking on the deck (Water is allowed. Please eat and drink in the grass area by the pool.)
- No chewing gum or smoking in the pool area
- Swimmers must wear appropriate swim attire
- No water wings, inflatable toys, etc. allowed. Masks, fins, snorkels and balls are restricted during high use. Black fins mark the pool and are never allowed
- Children 12 and under must be accompanied when using the spa. For health reasons, the spa is not recommended for young children
- Rinse in shower prior to entering the pool or hot tub
Private Swim Lessons are offered in summer with The Westwood Club swim instructors. If you are interested in private or semi-private swim lessons call the club office at 858-485-6300. Outside swim instructors are not permitted.
The Wading Pool is for children 5 years of age and younger. Children not yet potty trained must wear a swimmer diaper while in the pool. Children must be accompanied by an adult while inside the gates. No eating in this area.
Saunas
Located in the men’s and women’s locker rooms. The men’s sauna requires a code from the front office to enter. Both saunas are for members 18 years of age and older. Members under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Please sit on a towel and remember to turn the sauna off when you are done.
Billiard Room
Open to adults and children accompanied by an adult. The billiard room has a pool table and ping pong table. Equipment may be checked out with a membership card. We ask that you DO NOT MOVE, SIT OR CLIMB ON THE POOL TABLE. This causes damage to the table and will result in a maintenance fee which may be charged to the owner’s account.
Fitness Center
The fitness center is available to members 13 years and older. You must present your card with a fitness sticker every time you come to use the facility.
Fitness Center Rules
- A signed waiver is required prior to using the fitness center
- A towel is required to enter the facility
- Guests and children are not permitted in the fitness center at any time
- Earphones are required when listening to music
- Closed toe shoes are required in the fitness center
- Do not slam or bump weight stacks
- The stair stepper, treadmills and bicycles are limited to 30 minutes of use if someone is waiting
- Cleaning supplies are in the fitness for you to clean off the equipment after each use
The Gazebo
Open to members on a first come first served basis or may be rented for private use. Rentals are for a 4-hour block of time. Rent the gazebo at the front office.
The Gymnasium (available to rent for large parties)
Available on a first come first served basis except when reserved or when programs are in session. Open Play Volleyball is on Monday nights 7pm-9pm (8:45pm when the club closes at 9pm). Open to members and their guests (with a guest pass or $5). Open Play Badminton runs Wednesday nights 6pm-8pm in the gymnasium. Open to members and their guests (with a guest pass or $5). The summer camp programs use the gym 10am-4pm daily in summer and on school breaks.
Miniature Golf
The 9-hole course was built by our in-house maintenance staff. Equipment may be checked out using your membership card. Children under 12 need to be accompanied by an adult or a responsible teenager.
Parking Lot
Open to members while using the club. Congregating or loitering in the Club parking lot or on the perimeter is not permitted. Skateboarding, biking, scooters, roller blading and roller skating is not allowed in the lot or on club grounds. The lot is closed and locked during hours when the club is closed.
Picnic Area
Open to members and their guests on a first come first served basis. Large groups of over 25 people need manager approval. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.. The area has several charcoal grill stations for use by members and a gas grill available (bring your own propane tank). Grills may be used on a first come first served basis.
Bounce houses are permitted with proper proof of insurance. Please inform the staff if you are planning to hire a bounce house. (No waterslides).
Playground
The equipment is designed for children 12 and under. Children under 6 must be supervised by an adult or responsible teenager. Shoes are highly recommended.
Preschool
Programs are available for potty trained children ages 3-5. The preschool is a licensed facility. For information and a tour call 858-618-2159.
Racquetball and Squash
The indoor racquetball and squash court is available on a first come first served basis. The court remains locked when not in use. Stop by the front office for access. Children under the age of 13 require adult supervision.
The Teen Center (available to rent for parties)
Available for use by members 13-17 years of age. Teens may use the pool table, foosball, air hockey and ping pong table year-round. Check out equipment at the front office.
Tennis and Pickle Ball Court rules
The tennis and pickle ball courts are available for use on a reservation basis. Each household may only have one reservation booked at a time which may be made up to 2 weeks in advance. Reservations are for 1½ hours. Reservations can be made at the front office or by calling 858-485-6300. There are no reservations for a specific court. Staff will assign court to allow for the maximum usage. Check in with the front office when you arrive to find out which court is yours. Tennis balls, rackets, pickle balls and paddles are available to check out at the front office. Please call and inform the front office if you need to cancel a reservation. No show reservations are forfeited after 10 minutes. Courteous tennis etiquette is to be used at all times.
- Suitable non-marking tennis shoes must be worn. (sandals and flop flops are prohibited)
- Shirts are required
- Swim attire is not permitted
- Food and drinks are prohibited on the courts
Tennis and Pickle Ball cont.
Tennis and pickleball lessons are available with The Westwood Club tennis pros. Contact the front office for instructor information. Tennis pros take priority for lessons on court 4. Outside tennis instructors are not allowed.
The Club has a tennis ball machine and a pickleball machine available for use. Cost per use is $10 or buy a 5 time use card at the front office for $40. A yearly pass is also available for $150.
The Architectural Committee

Each lot in Westwood has a specific set of CC&Rs (Covenants, Conditions and Restrictions). A copy of the CC&Rs is provided to each owner through their escrow company. Additional or replacement copies of the CC&Rs are available for homeowners at The Club Office for a fee.
Architectural Review Applications are to be completed and submitted to the ARC office prior to when ANY changes or updates are going to be made to the exterior of the home or lot. This includes but is not limited to landscape, hardscape, exterior paint, windows, doors, roofing, solar panels, fencing or concrete work. Architectural Review Applications are available at the front office or on the website under the ARC menu tab.
Architectural Review Forms are reviewed by the Architectural Review Committee which meets every 1st and 3rd Wednesday of the month. Signed and completed Architectural Review Applications with supporting documents and samples must be received by the office no later than the Friday prior to the next ARC meeting to be included on the meeting agenda. The ARC decision will be communicated to you via mail.
