Mrs. Stephanie Salomon - The Teddy Bear Class & The Busy Bee Class

My name is Stephanie Salomon. After graduating from college, I worked for social services counselling adolescents and families at risk.  When I became a parent myself I discovered my love of working in early childhood education.  I went back to school to earn my degree in early childhood education and complete coursework to qualify as a childcare center director.  I have been a preschool teacher at The Westwood Club preschool for 6 years. Working with small children has always been a passion of mine. I find everything they learn and discover a joy to watch every day. Being part of this preschool community and teaching staff has been such a wonderful experience.

Ms. Samantha Morris - The Teddy Bear Class & The Busy Bee Class

My name is Samantha Morris. I grew up in Westwood and have worked at the Westwood Club since the age of 16 as a lifeguard, a camp counselor and working in the front office. Being a part of the preschool isn an amazing experience.

Mrs. Cara Cara du Preez - The Teddy Bear Class

My name is Cara du Preez. I have a Bachelor of Science in Education as well as additional Early Childhood Education Units. Before having my two sons, I taught for seven years and my classes consisted of three-year-olds and four-year-olds. Both of my sons are in Middle School now, so I am excited to return to the world of preschool.I Iove working with young children and seeing the world through their eyes. I am so happy to be joining The Westwood Club Preschool team and I look forward to getting to know everyone.

Mrs. Julie Ater - The Giraffe Class

My name is Julie Ater.  I graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Early Childhood Education and Family Studies and have been teaching and working with children for the last 30 years.  Many of those years have been in the classroom setting with the last 6 years being here at The Westwood Club.  I am passionate about helping to guide children as they navigate their world and learn to use their voices.  There is nothing better than watching a child make a discovery and find confidence in their successes.

Mrs. Cristina Lazaroiu - The Giraffe Class 

My name is Cristina Lazaroiu. I have been involved in Early Childhood Education ever since I became a parent.  I earned my Early Childhood Education degree and I have always volunteered in my children’s classrooms as an educational assistant. Both my children attended the preschool program and loved it. We had such a wonderful experience with the school, the program and the teachers that I decided to follow my dream and stayed on as a teacher. When I’m not in the classroom, I enjoy spending time with my family and taking joy in the simple things in life.

Mrs. Rubab Gulamhussainwala - The Giraffe Class

My name is Rubab Gulamhussainwala. I have been working with children for 7 years and truly have a passion for childcare. This is my first year at The Westwood Club Preschool and I am excited to be part of this team of teachers. I have studied Early Childhood Education and am taking classes to complete my ECE degree and to better my education skills and techniques. I love working with children and seeing their eyes light up when they discover something new. I admire their endless energy, honesty and creativity that they bring into the classroom each day. Nothing makes me happier than to watch young children grow and develop into confident sef-sufficient learners.

Mrs. Pauline Tetlow

My family has lived in Westwood for 14 years. Both of my girls attended WWC Preschool and I have taught at the preschool in the 2 year old and 3 year old classes for many years. This year I’m glad of the opportunity to work in every class and get to know all of our wonderful students and families.

Mrs. Angela Whitcher

My name is Angela Whitcher and I have been a preschool teacher for over 13 years. I’ve been a substitute teacher at The Westwood Club Preschool since 2021. I also work in the Club office. I love being part of this wonderful group of teachers.

Mrs. Bell Oliver

Hello, my name is Bell Oliver. I am a proud mom of two very active boys ages 12 and 15. We have lived in the Westwood community for about 20 years. Both of my boys attended Westwood Elementary school where I was a very active volunteer in their classrooms in every grade. That is where I realized that I really loved working with children. I love being around children of all ages, teaching them, playing with them, and helping them discover their greatest potential. I am currently going back to school to pursue my degree in Interdisciplinary Studies / Child Development. In my spare time, I like going to the beach and spending time with my family! I am looking forward to meeting you and your family during this school year!

Mrs. Nancy Da Silva --- Preschool Director

My name is Nancy Da Silva. For more than 20 years it has been my pleasure to be an active member of the Westwood community and a part of the Westwood Club Preschool. I first visited the preschool as the parent of three young children. My children and I loved our time here and the warmth and kindness of the teachers. When my children left preschool, I went back to college to earn my qualifications in early childhood education and childcare center management. I became a teacher at the WWC preschool and later accepted the position as director. I love what I do and the chance it gives me to get to know all our wonderful Westwood families!
